What is the nature of the Old Testament theology? Is it proper to treat the Old Testament as a collection of theologies (plural)? Or should we view the Old Testament as a history of beliefs of different religious communities? Or perhaps there is a unifying center to the theology and message of the whole Bible that is indicated and affirmed by the Bible itself with its foundations found in the Old Testament?

This class will closely follow the work of Dr. Walter C. Kaiser “Toward and Old Testament Theology” in which the author demonstrates the presence of the central theme in the Old Testament, being the promise plan of God, and traces the development of that promise through the books of the Old Testament.
